a Thought thrown Away

I found a thought in my brain this morning,
pulled it out in surprise.

There it sat in my bare hand
twisted and shaking,

what if God is disappointed in me?
what if He stops loving me?

And I rolled it up and threw it out the window
into the light where it couldn't live --

because I knew, a small piece of me knew,
that it was wrong.

I just didn't know for a moment,
who I was.
